During last month’s ISSA/Interclean Amsterdam show, ECMR (European Cleaning Machines Recycling) presented two Sustainability awards to companies that they feel have made great strides in improving their environmental credentials.

BOMA Benelux was awarded with the ECMR Distributor Sustainability Award, with Stijn Wildiers, Managing Director of BOMA Benelux, collecting the award from André Vonk, Managing Director of ECMR.

Throughout 2015, BOMA made an obvious contribution, realised with its sustainability programme and environmental responsibility in the recycling and reuse of raw materials, and claimed the award thanks to its ‘vision to create an environmentally sound method that connects to a circular economy, which is both internally and externally propagated by the entire organisation’, according to André.

The second award presented by ECMR was its Manufacturer Sustainability Award, and this went to Kärcher Belgium. Having worked in partnership with ECMR since 2013, Kärcher Belgium has continuously aimed at an even more sustainable and responsible means of recycling and reuse of its machinery equipment. The company has also relocated to a fully sustainable new facility in Wilrijk, Antwerp, showing that this sustainable approach has been fully implemented in its DNA.

André Vonk presented the award to Kees Magtmans, Managing Director of Kärcher Belgium and Hartmut Jenner, CEO, Chairman of the Management Board at Kärcher Worldwide.
