Double-whammy of awards for Bio-P

Burgess Hill-based eco-friendly cleaning chemicals manufacturer, Bio-Productions, picked up two awards at the prestigious BHBiz Awards 2019.

10 members of the Bio-Productions team attended the awards ceremony at the Brighton Amex Community Stadium on Friday 10 May. The glittering event was hosted by broadcaster and journalist Jennie Bond.

Bio-Productions took home ‘Best Business’ for the company as a whole, for their innovation, business acumen and community-based ethics.

Meanwhile, Operations Manager Chris Freeman walked away with outstanding recognition in the form of the ‘Star Apprentice’ award. Chris, who has been with the company almost two years, previously spent 15 years in the military police before being invalided out and working in IT before joining Bio-Productions.

The company, led by MD and local business advocate Angela Gill, was shortlisted in the final three for 10 out of 11 categories, and also sponsored the BHBPA ‘Special Person’ award.

MD Angela Gill said: “We are all so thrilled to be recognised with these awards. The credit must go to our entire team here and we are so proud of Chris Freeman for winning his individual award. And, so honoured to be finalists amongst such great, strong and thriving companies, which makes winning Best Business all the more special.

“Together, we have made the last five years the best in the company’s history. We believe in putting the customers first – but alongside that enjoy having fun, contributing to the community and being ambassadors for Sussex business.”
