Coronavirus: British Cleaning Council issues statement

The British Cleaning Council (BCC) has issued a statement about its part in the fight against the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Paul Thrupp, BCC Chairman, said: “We at the BCC recognise our responsibility to help support a safe and healthy Britain. We ask all our members, our staff, colleagues and the general public to be vigilant during the Coronavirus outbreak, and to take appropriate precautions to protect and prevent the spread of this latest virus.

“The BCC and its members are playing a huge part in safeguarding the British population and ensuring the spread of the virus is restricted by supporting robust hygiene practices, effective cleaning schedules and systems and by promoting advice from the World Health Organisation and the NHS about the virus.”

Members of the BCC have also felt the impact of the Coronavirus in a number of different ways. These include:

Clients have been asking for expert guidance on cleaning protocols such as how to conduct effective deep cleans and how to ensure daily cleaning routines are as effective as possible.

Members have also felt a huge upsurge in demand for disinfectants, cleaners, sanitisers, cloths and face masks and they are working at weekends and evenings to ensure those orders are fulfilled.

There has also been a noticeable increase in demand for contract cleaning services from a wide range of customers.
