BICSc Annual Awards are roaring success

BICSc celebrates the roaring success of their Annual Awards

The exceptional efforts of leading lights from the professional cleaning industry were in the spotlight at the recent British Institute of Cleaning Science (BICSc) Annual Awards, which recognises industry excellence.

Renowned as one of the largest, most influential networking events in the cleaning industry’s calendar, the glittering, star-studded event, hosted by TV personality Reverend Richard Coles with guest voiceovers provided by TV actor, comedian, and impressionist Terry Mynott, was a roaring success.

More than 150 guests attended the industry leading prestigious awards event staged at The Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club, where BICSc unveiled plans of its revolutionary rebranding due to be introduced in 2022.

Generous guests at the lunchtime event helped raise hundreds of pounds for the Chairman’s chosen charity, Dementia UK.

Neil Spencer-Cook, Chief Operating Officer at BICSc, said: “The Institute has been honouring industry excellence within the field of training and accreditation for decades, and with 2021 being our 60th anniversary, there was even more reason to celebrate.

“In what has been an exceptionally challenging time for everyone throughout the pandemic, it was even more important we recognised our worthy winners for going above and beyond. We were also delighted to reveal our re-branding plans to all our guests at the much-anticipated awards event which proved to be a roaring success.”

Amongst the award winners were VINCI Facilities, who were presented with the Outstanding Corporate Member of the Year award in recognition for their ongoing investment in their people. Emrill took the accolade for Excellence and Training and Assessment outside of the UK, with Godefridus Johannes Veneman announced as the winner of The International Award, for raising the profile of the Cleaning Industry as an advocate of BICSc training and standards outside of the UK.

Other successes included the Institute’s most prestigious award, ‘The Chairman’s Award’, which this year was presented to Nigel Lea of Citation, who are Corporate Members and long-time supporters of BICSc. Nigel accepted the Institute’s premier accolade for his outstanding contribution to the Institute and the cleaning industry.

In a statement, the Judging Panel revealed: “This year we were again inundated with entries of an exceptional standard. It is incredibly important to recognise and reward the ongoing commitment to BICSc standards, which we continue to see every year. This year’s worthy winners demonstrate how they continue to drive and inspire improvement throughout the industry whose services and commitment have been needed more than ever during these unprecedented times.”
