Bunzl CHS and Kimberly-Clark Employees Go The Long Way Down for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund

Former Bunzl CHS National Account Controller Ernest Craske and Paul Hirst, Strategic National Account Manager at Kimberly-Clark completed a 1000-mile bike ride across the UK to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund
Former Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies (BCHS) employee, Ernest Craske, has completed the ‘End-to-End’ challenge, alongside Paul Hirst of Kimberly-Clark, to raise almost £8,000 and counting for the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

The 1,000-mile trip from John O’Groats to Land’s End was completed over fourteen days from 9-23rd May and was well supported by friends and family members in the Bunzl sponsored support vehicle.

Choosing a cause close to both of their hearts, Ernest Craske, a National Account Controller at BCHS for almost 25 years before retirement and Paul Hirst, a current Strategic National Account Manager at Kimberly-Clark Professional, were inspired to brave the elements to the finish line despite facing a few setbacks in their paths, which included falling over the handle bars and beating some challenging inclines to name a few.

Speaking of Bunzl’s support of the cycle ride, Ernest Craske said: “We owe a huge debt of thanks to Bunzl for sponsoring our trip by funding a support vehicle, fuel and insurance costs and cycling shirts. In addition, the support we received along the route from colleagues from BCHS, Kimberly-Clark, and Mitie were a great boost to us all. It is fair to say that without the Bunzl support we would have been unable to even contemplate the trip.”

Despite their dedication to training and fundraising, the End-to-End challenge team are still striving to hit their significant target of £25,000 and continue to accept donations via their JustGiving page.
