David Garcia, the founder and former chairman of Polaris Plastics, has been elected Vice President of the Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association (CHSA).
An active member of the CHSA for many years, David currently serves as Treasurer of the Association and has previously served as Chairman.
David is the driving force behind the CHSA Undergraduate Bursary Scheme, and at his instigation, the CHSA awards bursaries of up to £4,500 to the children of employees of CHSA members who successfully apply.
He is also responsible for the Annual Gala Ball, a hugely popular event at which Association members raise significant funds for charity. Already a sell-out, this year’s Ball takes place in May at the Belfry Hotel & Resort, Sutton Coldfield.
Stephen Harrison, Chairman of the CHSA, said: “David has consistently made an exceptional contribution over many years. His energy and ideas have been invaluable. The Undergraduate Bursary Scheme is an initiative of which we are very proud. Because of his vision and determination, we are able to give something back to our members and their employees while supporting the next generation of talent.
“We are very lucky to have his input and determination on these initiatives and are delighted he has accepted the position of Vice President.”
Speaking about his appointment, David Garcia said: “I’m very proud of the CHSA, its positive effect on standards and the way in which it represents its members’ interests. I’m delighted to have been elected a Vice President of the CHSA and am looking forward to continue making a difference in the industry.”
