CIMS recertification honours for CHS

Calderdale & Huddersfield Solutions achieves CIMS recertification with honours

Calderdale & Huddersfield Solutions Ltd (CHS), part of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, has recertified to the Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) with honours designation.

The recertification is valid for the next two years, after the initial certification was achieved in 2017.

CIMS, developed by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, is a comprehensive management and operations standard for cleaning organisations worldwide, and a game-changer for facility managers and cleaning business owners working in a competitive marketplace.

As part of the process, CHS leadership tapped the skills of CIMS ISSA Certification Expert (I.C.E.) Lynn Webster, of Lynn Webster Consultants, for training and consulting services to measure improvements and ensure compliance prior to the certification audit.

Lynn Webster commented: "As the I.C.E. consultant for CHS, I am delighted to see they have achieved their reaccreditation, and again with honours.

"This is recognition to the team [that has] faced a number of challenges in recent times. The benefits provided through the CIMS platform have allowed for a smooth integration of changes in the cleaning operation with another successful outcome."

Lorina Cragg, Head of Facilities at CHS, said: "Going again through the full CIMS certification program conveys our continuous commitment to excellence. We are proud to have in place a platform for delivering a consistent, high-quality service for our patients. CIMS offers us a foundation which clearly stipulates what an organisation should have in place to provide a professional, successful, and customer-faced operation."

To earn CIMS certification, the UK-based subsidiary underwent a comprehensive assessment by a third-party CIMS accredited auditor. During the audit, CHS demonstrated its compliance with the five core principles of the standard: quality systems; service delivery; human resources; health, safety, and environmental stewardship; and management commitment.

Rosemary Chisholm, CIMS auditor, said: "The management of estates, facilities, and procurement functions by the CHS is of high quality. Additionally, there are robust processes in place for personal development of staff. Following my evaluation and inspections, I am pleased to confirm that CHS has achieved CIMS certification with honours."
