CLEAN has secured a coveted Green Apple Award for Environmental Best Practice from one of the most respected recognition schemes for environmental endeavour.
Facing off against stiff competition, with more than 500 entries from a variety of industries within the private and public sectors, judges were impressed by the pioneering and industry-leading commitment to sustainability and investment in state-of-the-art equipment, processes and systems which has seen CLEAN reduce their overall carbon footprint by 39%.
Since opening their £15m Slough super-laundry earlier this year, CLEAN has continued to develop their Environmental Management System to ensure they fulfil their green responsibilities throughout all laundry sites by optimising energy, water and chemical consumption.
The awards, which are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and other independent bodies, will be presented at a glittering ceremony at the Houses of Parliament on 6 November.
Having secured the Green Apple Award, CLEAN is now eligible to become a Green World Ambassador where they will represent the UK in the Green World Awards 2018 – the leading sustainability programme, playing a vital part in helping others to help the environment.
CLEAN has also been invited to publish their winning paper on the development of the Slough super-laundry in The Green Book, the leading international work of reference on environmental standards.
