Commercial Cleaning And Sustainability

UK cleaning industry

Achieving true sustainability is more than just a buzzword, it is a move towards living in a way that honours the resources of the planet we all share. Using these resources responsibly needs to become the focus of every industry, and cleaning is no different.

From choosing eco-friendly cleaning products to using innovative cleaning technology, we take a look at commercial cleaning and sustainability.

Clean and Green

For way too long, the cleaning industry has relied upon cleaning products, detergents, bleaches and even cleaning companies that do not pair well with a green agenda. Fortunately, many companies in the industry have taken note of the climate crisis and eco-topics, and have adjusted their processes and taken responsibility for their contribution to carbon emissions.

Green Cleaning Tech

Biodegradable cleaning products are not only better for the environment, but also human beings. The development of these products produces less air and water pollution instead of contributing to it.

New technology like Pulse Mops, reusable and washable microfibre mop heads and cloths, use less water to get the same clean, cutting down on the materials needed to wash them.

Less Waste and Better Waste Management

A crucial aspect of sustainability is adjusting procedures so that there is less waste produced, and what waste there is produced is able to be dealt with in an environmentally friendly way. More and more cleaning companies are adopting the ‘reduce, reuse, recycle’ when developing their waste hierarchy for a more sustainable future.

Reducing the number of cleaning products that they have to use and the amount of potentially harmful chemicals contained within those cleaning products is a good first step, followed by using only reusable items, which significantly reduces waste.
