Leeds-based Cromwell Polythene has sponsored a local under 11’s football team, Sherburn White Rose FC, as part of its commitment to sustainability.
Cromwell’s Managing Director James Lee and National Accounts Director Paul Fleetwood recently visited the club and were impressed with the facilities and everyone involved.
James commented: “Sustainability is a key part of our company DNA, so we were delighted to take this opportunity to support this local young team. We thought that team manager, Jamie, was extremely professional and enthusiastic, which was a joy to see.
“In addition to the kit sponsorship, we have also donated some refuse sacks in the hope that they will be helpful when clearing up after match days; although the club house and pitch is already well maintained and tidy.”
Jamie Firn, Under 11’s Team Manager, said: “The 2017/18 season has seen this year’s under 11’s get off to a smart start thanks to Cromwell Polythene’s generosity in kindly sponsoring the squad with a new Joma match kit. The squad has recently grown to 22 players which has allowed a new development team to be set up, providing an ideal first step into the sport, whilst giving youngsters in and around Sherburn in Elmet the opportunity to represent their area.
“The support provided by local businesses like Cromwell Polythene is a vital part in the ongoing success of the club. Assistance with kit sponsorship allows the club to continue its investment in facilities and equipment, along with recognised FA training schemes for all the clubs coaches & supporting members.”
Both under 11 teams play in the local Garforth League divisions, which see them in action against sides in and around Leeds and West Yorkshire each Sunday, putting into practice the skills and techniques they have learnt during Saturday morning training sessions.
The club welcomes all new players and has a fantastic, growing junior section which supports players from the age of five through to 16. Beyond this, players have the opportunity to become involved within the senior section of the club.
