Exceptional conformance for CHSA Accreditation Schemes in 2018

The Cleaning & Hygiene Suppliers Association’s (CHSA) analysis of the 2018 performance of its Accreditation Schemes shows exceptional conformance in all areas.

The results make it clear that if buyers of cleaning and hygiene products want to be certain ‘what’s on the box is what’s in the box’, they need to look for the CHSA Accreditation Scheme marque.

In its second year of operation, the results for the CHSA’s Accreditation Scheme for Distributors show that an average of 97.5% of relevant products across all Accredited Distributors are from CHSA Accredited Manufacturers.

Label compliance in 2018 for the Accreditation Scheme for Manufacturers of Plastic Refuse Sacks is 98.8%, having risen from 85% in 2015. Plastic Refuse sacks are tested to see if they are fit for purpose using the British Standards Institute Drop Test. Performance is assessed by combining the Drop Test results with the count and dimensions of the sacks. Compliance in 2018 was over 91%, compared to 71% in 2015.

Analysis of the results of the Accreditation Scheme for Manufacturers of Soft Tissue again shows exceptional conformance. Label compliance, which means the label includes the product’s dimensions, manufacturer, batch number and relevant Accreditation Scheme logo, is 89% (95.9% when excluding minor infringements such as missing the Scheme logo). Dimensional compliance, as measured by square area of the product, is 92.4% excluding minor infringements.

Members of the Accreditation Scheme for Manufacturers of Industrial Cotton Mops continue to achieve near perfect conformance on label and product performance.

Mike Stubbs, Chairman of the Accreditation Schemes, said: “The introduction of the Accreditation Scheme for Distributors has had a very positive impact, all the main distributors in the sector applying and then passing the auditing process. It has also driven up membership of our Manufacturing Standards Accreditation Schemes. Distributors joining the Scheme are demanding their suppliers adhere to the same high standards to which they ascribe, who in turn are applying for membership.”
