To support World Hand Hygiene Day on 5 May, Kimberly-Clark Professional has shared five ways to improve hand hygiene standards within a healthcare environment.

For the 10th year in a row, World Hand Hygiene Day is a cornerstone of the WHO’s campaign to galvanise action at the point of care and improve patient safety. Sepsis prevention is this year’s focus: it kills 44,000 people in the UK and costs the economy £16bn every year.

KCP’s Five Ways to ensure hand hygiene and prevent sepsis are:

Help people understand how to protect themselves – create and display posters and notices promoting hand hygiene in your environment here.
Demonstrate best practice in your environment – take the opportunity to demonstrate to everyone, even experts.
