As part of its continuous strategy to be ‘Best in Class’ in its market sector, Greyland Chemicals has introduced sustainable bottle packaging not available from any other UK cleaning chemicals manufacturer.
Both trigger spray bottles and jerry cans used by Greyland Chemicals are now produced using recycled material.
Working with its bottle supply partner Alpla UK to develop and implement recycled polymer packaging to the industrial chemicals cleaning sector, the two companies established a process to use Post-Consumer Recycled polymers which mean that the new Greyland 750ml PET trigger bottles will be produced with a recycled PET inclusion of 50%, while the 5-litre HDPE Jerry Can will be produced with a general grade recycled HDPE inclusion of 25%.
With much of the worldwide media coverage currently focusing on so-called ‘plastic islands’ and wildlife being found dead with discarded plastics inside them, it is clear that urgent attention be given to reducing the amount of plastics from land and oceans as it begins to make an appearance in the human food chain.
Greyland MD, Richard Dyson, said: “A successful rollout of these recycled materials will ensure that Greyland and Alpla will be meeting the future environmental demands and expectations of both retailers and consumers.”
