Greyland steps up to increased demand

Cleaning chemical manufacturer Greyland has seen an overall increase in demand of 300% from its distributor network.

With the global Coronavirus pandemic raging, and despite the general lockdown in force, there are some firms that are now busier than ever, and Greyland is one of them. Demand for liquid soap and specialist sanitisers for the NHS and care home market especially has grown tenfold since the instruction in early March for everyone to increase hand washing.

As a result, Greyland has taken on extra production staff and new, longer shifts have been introduced in order to fulfil the increase in demand. Dozens of new distributor enquiries have been received, due to many cleaning chemical manufacturers being overwhelmed.

Thankfully, the company has been following an extended programme of continuous growth, matched by significant investment in production capacity for a good number of years, meaning that they are able to cope with the sudden spike of extra orders. In addition, their distribution fleet has more than kept pace, and orders are usually received, produced and delivered within days instead of weeks.

Greyland Managing Director, Richard Dyson, said: “In my approaching 40 years in the cleaning industry, I have never known anything remotely like what we are experiencing right now.”

With an eye to the future, Greyland recently introduced its Maximum Eco range, as well as increased the percentage of recycled material used in its product packaging to an unrivalled 40%.

The company will also be exhibiting at the delayed Manchester Cleaning Show in September, where potential distributors will be able to talk with Greyland first-hand.
