Innovation of the Year crowned by ISSA

ISSA Awards 2019 Innovation of the Year is crowned in Las Vegas

Secure Winter Products’ Entry, a chloride-free de-icer product has won the 2019 ISSA Innovation of the Year award at ISSA Show North American 2019, in Las Vegas.

The 2019 ISSA Innovation Award Program included 42 of the cleaning industry's most innovative products and services. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the program featured three and a half months of online voting. Attendees could see the entries from top manufacturers and suppliers first-hand at the ISSA Innovation Showcase during ISSA Show North America.

ISSA Executive Director, John Barrett, said: "Congratulations to Secure Winter Products for taking home the top spot in a crowded field of compelling innovations. As the worldwide cleaning association, ISSA is proud to recognize Secure Winter Products, the honourable mention recipients and the five category award winners, and all of the entrants for truly embracing ISSA's mission to change the way the world views cleaning with their amazing advancements."

Five honourable mentions recognised during the Innovation of the Year ceremony were:

  • Bona Resilient Floor Renovation – Bona US
  • GP PRO Pacific Blue Ultra, 100% Use, High Capacity Coreless Toilet Paper System – GP PRO (Georgia-Pacific)
  • AutoVac Stretch – Kaivac, Inc
  • Hoover Commercial MPWR 40V Cordless System – TTI Floor Care
  • Vectair P-Screen 60 Day Triple Action Urinal Screen – Vectair Systems, Inc

Additionally, winners of the ISSA Innovation Award Program category awards were announced during a well-received ISSA Spotlight Speaker session with Marvelless Mark Kamp. The winners were:

  • Cleaning Agents: Foam Soap – SC Johnson Professional
  • Dispensers: foamyiQ – Spartan Chemical Co., Inc
  • Equipment: Whiz – SoftBank Robotics
  • Services and Technology: OptiSolve Surface Imaging Technology – OptiSolve, a Division of Charlotte Products
  • Supplies and Accessories: Entry – Secure Winter Products

Winners were chosen by combining online voting results and evaluations from industry expert judges. The judges were: Tamara Dick (Medline Industries), Rob Geissler (Trade Press Media Group), Roger McClendon (Green Sports Alliance), Stephanie Poskin (Wake Forest University) and Laurie Sewell (Servicon Systems, Inc).
