Julius Rutherfoord Appoints New Managing Director

Specialist contract cleaning company, Julius Rutherfoord, has appointed Andrew Marshall as Managing Director. Andrew will lead the company into the next stage of strategic development as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, and continues to grow and deliver service excellence to its clients in the London commercial and educational sectors.
Andrew has a wealth of experience at managing director level, predominantly in the leisure and parking industries, delivering services to a wide range of clients. He brings over 15 years’ experience overseeing multi-site operations and building strong client relationships. The founding directors of Julius Rutherfoord, Andy Beilby and Dominic Morris-Marsham, who started the company in 1994, will both remain involved with the strategy, governance and direction of the company, working closely with Andrew in the decision-making process.
Andy Beilby, Co-founder of Julius Rutherfoord, said: “The entire team joins me in welcoming Andrew to this role. His previous experience with top industry organisations is extremely valuable, and we are confident that his commercial drive will help us achieve our ambitious targets over the coming years."
Julius Rutherfoord has built a reputation as London’s most professional and reliable contract cleaner, with over 2,150 staff providing daily cleaning services for a wide variety of prestigious offices, commercial premises and educational establishments. High profile clients include the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Macmillan Publishing, The Institute of Cancer Research, Mind Candy, The Salvation Army, Amnesty International, Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, and the Supreme Court of the UK to name a few.
The award-winning cleaning contractor has shown steady organic year-on-year growth of between 15-18% over the last decade, with an annual turnover of £16million in 2013. Following recent new business wins, it is currently ranked as one of the UK’s top 20 fastest growing privately-owned cleaning companies. The company is a certified ‘Living Wage’ service provider and strictly adheres to its policy of always paying staff more than the minimum wage. It is also accredited to ISO 14001 and has many carbon reducing measures, such as the installation of an array of 36 solar panels on the roof of its HQ, as well as a fleet of environmentally friendly vehicles, contributing to a total saving of 173tonnes of CO2 in 2013 alone.
Julius Rutherfoord owns its 13,000ft2 Head Office building based in Battersea – a beautifully restored Victorian tram workshop – and has recently expanded its operations by purchasing the freehold of the two adjacent buildings, totalling 11,500ft2. This gives the contract cleaner plenty of potential growth space as the business continues to expand, but it is also in the process of increasing its operations, recruiting additional posts to support growth.
