Christeyns Food Hygiene refurbishment opened by Warrington Mayor

Christeyns Food Hygiene’s newly refurbished 78,000 sq ft facility at Winwick Quay was officially opened Friday 8 November by the Mayor of Warrington.

Members of Christeyns senior management team joined the Mayor, Cllr Wendy Johnson, and other guests at the opening event to celebrate not only the state-of-the-art site improvements, but also the company’s 30th anniversary.

The Mayor said: “I am delighted to have been asked to officially mark the opening of these excellent facilities. I’d like to congratulate Christeyns Food Hygiene on 30 years of business and wish them well with their plans for the future.”

The facility now incorporates 11 units on Cameron Court, having grown considerably since 1989 when it was founded by John Bell as Klenzan. The latest investment, which includes external refurbishments to the whole site, has provided improved efficiency and safety procedures as well as increasing the overall sustainability of the site.

As part of the facility upgrade, the company invested in additional bulk tank storage to ensure that its customers receive a continued supply of the cleaning and disinfecting products required to keep their businesses running, whatever the Brexit outcome. Any disruption in supply could have serious effects on the nation’s food and beverage provision.

Neil Jones, Managing Director at Christeyns Food Hygiene, said: “This is a great step forward in the growth of our business as we prepare for the new decade. Warrington provides a great location with easy access to our customer base across the UK and Ireland and I am pleased to announce we have secured a new 10-year lease. Our thanks go to Mayor Wendy Johnson and to all those who have come here today to mark this milestone.”

Cllr Wendy Johnson cut the ribbon with the help of apprentices Joanna Leech and Aaron Barber and declared the new facility officially open. Guests were given a tour of the upgraded facilities, followed by refreshments.
