Max Holder acquired by Kärcher

Kärcher strengthens municipal vehicle offering by acquiring Max Holder

Max Holder, manufacturer of compact, multi-functional municipal and viticulture vehicles, has been successfully acquired by Kärcher.

Holder will continue as an independent subsidiary of Kärcher at its existing head office in Reutlingen, Germany, and will extend Kärcher’s product development, manufacturing of municipal vehicles and help to generate long-term growth in the sector.

Holder has an existing worldwide distribution network with more than 250 sales and service partners in more than 50 countries and a dedicated office for Canada and the USA to support the dealer network.

Known for outstanding engineering, Holder’s quality multifunctional system vehicles are used in grounds maintenance, landscaping, viticulture, fruit-growing, facilities management, airports, military, local authorities, utility providers and transport infrastructure.

Holder machines deliver the comparable work result of a single-purpose vehicle due to bespoke solutions and one of the largest selections of attachments on the market. For customers, this means real cost savings and reduced total cost of ownership during operation, including service and repair.

Andy Meale, Head of Sales (Municipal) at Kärcher UK, commented: “Max Holder has been a leading manufacturer of articulated tractors since 1888, and the UK team is looking forward to introducing this high quality and versatile range of implement carriers to its UK customers. From winter maintenance to grounds care, Max Holder offers real multifunctionality for most of the applications any customer may have.”

While the use of multi-functional vehicles in the UK is in its infancy, this acquisition will strengthen brand foundations for sector growth here. Both Kärcher and Holder municipal vehicles will continue to be independently available to customers while product development, combining the strengths of both brands, will focus on battery operated vehicles for an increasingly sustainable future.
