New appointments and governance at ETS

European Tissue Symposium announces new appointments and governance model

The European Tissue Symposium (ETS) has announced a number of new management appointments effective as of 1 July 2023.

Changes to the organisation’s governance model see the introduction of a non-executive rotating Presidency elected among the members of the Board, together with an executive Director General.

Volker Zöller, President Consumer Goods EMEA, Essity Group, assumes the role of President, while Carlos Reinoso becomes Director General. Roberto Berardi, formerly Honorary Chairman, will remain in place as an advisor until the end of 2023.

Zöller stated: “This is both an exciting and challenging era for the tissue industry as we continue to build sustainable hygiene solutions. I am honoured to have been selected as President of the ETS and look forward to working with members to support and enhance the image of the sector.”

Reinoso added: “The ETS provides an essential service to its members, and I am confident that the changes we are introducing will further strengthen this forum. I’d like to extend a particular thanks to Fanis Papakostas, departing Chairman, for his outstanding contribution to the Association over the past six years, we look forward to building on Fanis’ achievements.”

ETS works to add value to member companies, their customers and end users by showcasing the superior hygiene and sustainability credentials of tissue paper products and the important role they play in upholding public health and protecting citizens across Europe and beyond.

As the European Tissue Paper Association, based in Brussels, ETS has represented the interests of the sector for over 50 years. Its members gather the majority of tissue paper producers throughout Europe, accounting for some 90% of total European tissue production.
