Rentokil Initial Colleagues Cycle 54 Miles For ‘Malaria No More’ UK

Published on 24/09/2014
Twenty-three colleagues from Camberley-based Rentokil Initial cycled 54 miles from London to Brighton to raise money for the company’s chosen charity, ‘Malaria No More’ UK. The team received 239 donations, raising more than £6,500, including a corporate donation of £1,000 from Rentokil Initial. The cycle, which is among the UK events organised through doitforcharity.com, is one of the most popular fundraising events of the year.
Jill Rodgers, Area Marketing Director and a member of the Rentokil Initial cycle team, commented: “The whole team is very thankful to all of our sponsors who have helped us to raise over £6,500 for such a great organisation. As a global leader in pest control, ‘Malaria No More’ UK is an important organisation for Rentokil Initial colleagues to support. Malaria, which is spread by mosquitoes, is a preventable and treatable disease, which shockingly claims the life of a child every minute. We are delighted to have contributed to such a great cause and look forward to taking part in further challenges in the future.”
‘Malaria No More’ UK works for the prevention of the spread of malaria by encouraging governments to place malaria at the top of its international development agenda, and by investing in malaria control projects in Ghana, Botswana and Namibia.
