Two New Partnerships Announced For Staples Disposables
Published on 04/06/2015
Staples Disposables Ltd has announced that it has entered into a partnership that will see the away-from-home divisions, which consist of Hygiene paper, Catering disposables and Professional cleaning chemicals taken over and split into ‘Staples Away From Home’ and ‘Staples Chemicals’.
The ‘Staples Away From Home’ division has been sold to Poppies Europe Ltd, based in St. Helens, while the ‘Staples Chemicals’ division has been sold to the Cleenol Group Ltd, based in Banbury, Oxon.
Staples have a long established history in paper converting and chemical blending; the company has been trading for more than 40 years and is a founder member of the CHSA soft tissue standard.
In an open letter, Managing Director Andrew Staples said: “This decision has taken a considerable length of time and this is a positive step forward, as it will provide our current partners and distributors with greater opportunities to grow the product range they are able to supply to their end user customers.”
Poppies Europe Ltd boasts a rich history in the manufacturing of napkin products, and a large manufacturing plant with specialist machines to convert the full table top range and hygiene products. They have also heavily invested and have the latest equipment to convert the full paper hygiene range, which includes centrefeed wipers and toilet tissue products.
Cleenol Group Ltd is one of the largest independent chemical blenders in the UK, with a history going back to the 1700s. They are considered to be innovators in the chemical field and offer an extensive product range alongside unrivalled technical support and training.
Speaking after the announcement, Mr Staples said: “The retail side of our facial tissue business has grown rapidly over the last few years and we felt that we weren’t giving the away-from-home business the attention that it deserved, so we went out to look for people who were innovative, very committed and focused on the away-from-home market, and we’re going to work with them to help grow that away-from-home base.”
The changeover will come into effect from 19th June.
