Terminal 3 added to Heathrow contract

ISS has announced that they have secured an extension to its contract with Heathrow to provide soft services to Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 until December 2022.

ISS has provided maintenance, cleaning, waste management, recycling and pest control services across both terminals since 2013.

The ISS team of over 300 will continue to provide a service which focuses on the passenger experience, working in partnership with Heathrow. Achievements of the team have included working with retailers to increase the recycling ratio by a further 11%, trialling new equipment and innovations, improving Health and Safety scoring by over 40% and exceeding targets in audits; all culminating in Heathrow winning the ‘Loo of the Year’ Award in 2017 and being nominated for a Platinum Award.

In addition, ISS has now secured Terminal 3 with the same scope of works. 189 employees have transferred across to us from the former provider and the contract is for a 15 month period. Great teamwork was shown by ISS and Heathrow to agree and mobilise Terminal 3 in just two weeks for the start of the contract on 1st February. ISS is looking forward to working with new Heathrow partners to build on the current performance and will strive to secure the terminal long term in line with the other terminals.

James Reynolds, Managing Director, ISS Transport Sector, commented: “Our partnership with Heathrow is very important to us and we are committed to supporting the client to provide a fantastic experience for employees and travellers alike. It is testament to the hard work and positive attitude of the dedicated team onsite led by David Nash our Aviation Services Director, along with an eagerness of every team member to strive for continuous improvement in all areas, that the contract has been extended and that ISS now covers Terminals 1, 2, 3 and 4.”

Alan Russell, Head of Facilities Management, Heathrow Airport, commented: “ISS has delivered excellent services during the current contract term and we are delighted to be continuing our partnership with the extension of this contract. We look forward to working with ISS to further improve the customer and passenger journey as we move forward.”
