Tork promotes sustainable hygiene management

Tork promotes sustainable hygiene management at Interclean Amsterdam 2022

Tork manufacturer Essity will demonstrate how hygiene and sustainability can go hand in hand at Interclean Amsterdam 2022 on stand 10.101.

The company will highlight a number of environmentally-friendly products and solutions that also optimise hygiene.

These include Tork Heavy-Duty Cleaning Cloth 99% Biobased which is designed for wiping up oil, grease and water spills. The 99% biobased disposable product comes in packaging made from 100% recycled fibres and at least 30% recycled plastics. It has also been nominated in the ‘Sustainability and Environment’ category at this year’s Amsterdam Innovation Awards.

Also on show will be the Tork Skincare range of soaps and hand sanitisers, plus the Tork PeakServe Continuous Hand Towel Dispenser. This high-capacity hand towel system holds up to 2100 towels and delivers them in a continuous action, eliminating the risk of jams. It takes just three seconds for a washroom visitor to take a towel and move on, speeding up traffic and improving washroom efficiency.

Another highlight will be Tork Vision Cleaning, the world’s leading facility management software solution. Tork Vision Cleaning uses people-counters and connected dispensers to provide real-time data on cleaning requirements. This allows cleaning teams to anticipate situations where enhanced cleaning or extra refill checks might be required.

Tork PaperCircle will also be showcased on the Tork stand. Customers signing up for the world’s first paper hand towel recycling service will have their used washroom towels picked up from their business premises and taken to local recycling centres where they will be turned into other tissue products. Tork PaperCircle enables businesses to reduce the environmental footprint of their paper hand towels by 40% compared with current waste handling options2.

Two key healthcare training modules – Tork Clean Hands Training and Tork Interactive Clean Hospital Training – will be demonstrated at the event. Tork Interactive Clean Hospital Training incorporates tips and tricks for safe healthcare cleaning and includes a ‘train-the-trainer’ module, while Tork Clean Hands Training invites healthcare staff into a digital world where they are confronted with a series of realistic hand hygiene scenarios.

Anna Königson Koopmans, Marketing Director Commercial for Essity’s professional hygiene business, said: “Sustainable hygiene management is key in professional cleaning – be it in workplaces and offices or in the healthcare sector.

“Customers are taking a more holistic look at improving their cleaning operations by selecting products and services that help reduce waste, while also being efficient and sustainable. By delivering sustainable hygiene management we can make a difference in the market and provide tailored hygiene solutions for our customers.”

Public hygiene is more critical than ever after two years of living with COVID-19, she says. Ann concluded: “The way FMs and facility service companies secure new hygiene standards and implement cleaning processes plays a key role in helping people feel safe.”
