OPHARDT hygiene, specialist in hand hygiene solutions and dispenser systems, was awarded the 2017 Purus Innovation Award in the ‘Washroom Hygiene’ category.
Taking place on the first day of the CMS Berlin 2017 Trade Fair, the CMS Purus Innovation Awards’ jury accepts product submissions from approximately 450 CMS exhibitors, and nominates submissions in six Innovation Award categories.
This year’s 17 nominees were asked to present their products to the jury where they would be judged on pioneering quality, functional quality, application quality, presentation quality, aesthetics, and sustainability.
OPHARDT hygiene’s the untouchable faucet system enables touchless operation of a system that dispenses water, soap, and disinfectant from one unit. The gesture-controlled interface minimises cross-contamination and promotes the highest possible hygiene standard.
The high-end, minimalist design of the untouchable is lauded for being both attractive and practical. The robust, stainless steel 316 faucet body resists corrosion and eliminates the build-up of bacteria. The completely touch-free unit reduces water consumption up to 70% and benefits from an automatic hygiene-flush function to prevent the build-up of bacteria within the system itself.
Explaining their decision, the jury said: ‘OPHARDT succeeded in establishing sound design within a coherent system through the untouchable – this creates a significant added value for both users and operators’.
