Cromwell Polythene, the family-run supplier of polythene and compostable products to aid recycling and waste management, has appointed Alex Lee as a Business Development Manager, through internal promotion.
Alex joined the Cromwell Polythene team as a Sales Executive in 2018 after several years’ experience in the agricultural and I.T. sectors. In this new role, he will be responsible for building relationships in the western region of the UK.
Alex takes over from Richard Rowling, who was a valued member of the Cromwell Polythene team for over 10 years and is now retiring. Richard has more than 40 years’ experience supplying products to the recycling and waste management industry.
Alex Lee said: “Richard is a well-recognised figure in the polythene industry and leaves some big shoes to fill. The sharing of his in-depth knowledge and practical experience of the whole supply chain from manufacturing to distribution has been invaluable in my induction to the role. I look forward to continuing his good work and to taking on the challenge of building on his success.”
Richard Rowling added: “I leave my position in safe hands with Alex’s appointment and wish him and the company all the best for the future. I have had an enjoyable and fulfilling career, during which I have seen collection methods change, the rise of recycling, and continued developments to capture and contain resources, including the collection of food waste over recent years in particular. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone I have worked with and met, and all the valued customers I have built wonderful relationships with over the years.”
Alex is the middle son of MD James and company secretary Debbie. His two brothers Angus and Henry are also part of the 37-strong Cromwell Polythene team as Office Manager and Business Development Manager respectively. He recently managed the relaunch of Cromwell’s free polythene recovery service, which returns clean polythene packaging to the production cycle.
