The Latest Technological Innovations In Cleaning & Hygiene

Keeping up to date with the latest technology and ideas in the commercial cleaning industry is a great way of ensuring you can offer your clients nothing but standards of excellence, helping to make sure that you’re one step ahead of the competition.

The recent Cleaning Show 2021, held at ExCeL in London at the start of the month (November) showcased some of the very latest ideas and innovations, which could prove to be quite the inspiration for you and your business if you’re looking to grow and expand over the next few years.

ICE, for example, unveiled its new UV Bot, designed to help drive autonomous cleaning. Operators are able to add disinfectant to the device and set it tasks, before it gets to work. Other features include 3D obstacle avoidance, 360 degree UV-C and ultrasonic dry mist disinfection.

Killis, meanwhile, launched its Leobot, a robot that has been designed to optimise efficiency while cleaning and maximise productivity, as well as using up to 70 per cent less water than other similar designs on the market - making it a really environmentally-friendly option.

Speaking of being eco-conscious, this is fast becoming a top concern for businesses and customers alike, so prioritising this and making it an area of focus for your brand will likely help drive revenue now and well into the future.

Luckily, there are lots of products and technologies out there that you can invest in to help you increase your green credentials. The Carbon Forecast tool from Bunzl Cleaning & Hygiene Supplies, for example, could prove beneficial, helping you to identify actual and potential carbon savings in contracts through the use of advanced data diagnostics.

The Future of Sustainable Cleaning Products to 2026 research paper from Smithers shows that, in 2021, total value for eco-friendly laundry, surface care, dishwashing, bath and shower goods will hit $72.9 billion in retail value.

Adoption was predicted to be fastest in Western Europe, supported by EU-driven circular economy initiatives and growing consumer demand for environmentally-friendly products - so making this the focus for your business could certainly yield dividends in the future.

And, of course, the impact of the pandemic cannot be forgotten and all sorts of innovations have sprung up over the last few years to help cleaning companies give their clients peace of mind where virus protection is concerned.

Vycel, for example, has brought out an electrostatic sprayer, which works by delivering a positively charged water-based antimicrobial spray to sanitise and disinfect 100 per cent of surfaces in an impressive 30 seconds.

Of course, these are just a small number of the exciting and interesting technological developments and advancements being seen in the cleaning industry and there are sure to be others that would suit your business just as well. Which will you invest in first?
